"We've been desperately looking for a location for years": will there soon be a local grocery store on this boulevard in Beausoleil?

This is a project that Gérard Spinelli and the elected officials are particularly keen on. A neighborhood grocery store is slated to open on the ground floor of 47 Boulevard Guynemer in Beausoleil. A long-standing desire that the mayor is keen to pursue.

"We've been desperately looking for premises for years. We've had several opportunities that have fallen through each time. We've found a 108m² space on Boulevard Guynemer, with an estimated purchase price of €480,000."

Satisfaction at the public hearing for this long-awaited project. Except for the opposition, which is wondering. "Why is the city buying it?" asks Sandrine Manfredi-Cavallere.

"We've been asked for a grocery store on this boulevard since 2008," retorts Gérard Spinelli. "We've been hoping for a long time, but to date we've consulted quite a few people without success. Private initiative has been lacking, so we're buying a location and then finding a tenant."

"It's difficult, but we'll find someone."

Despite several years of canvassing the local population, the mayor isn't giving up hope. "We've asked existing grocers if any are interested. It's difficult, but we'll find someone."

Regarding the terms of possible work to bring the premises up to the occupants' liking, Gérard Spinelli mentioned a potential exemption from charges for the first few months to offset the investment coming from the future tenant's pocket. "We'll return to the city council once we've found a tenant."

The decision to purchase these premises was passed unanimously in a public session this Wednesday evening.
